Highways forms

We are updating our online forms in a series of phases. From 15th July, this form has moved to our new system.

If you need to report a new issue with a tree, vegetation or grass cutting, please use the new form.

If you reported an issue before 15th July, you can continue to use this system, to check its progress via the account history section. If you reported an issue anonymously, you can contact us by phone for an update.

Before you start

You can use this form to report a non-emergency grass cutting, vegetation or verge issue.

If the issue is causing an immediate danger to the safety of road users, it is classed as an emergency. You should contact us by telephone to report an emergency on 0300 131 2 131, rather than using our online form. Our opening hours are Monday and Tuesday 9am to 5pm; Wednesday 9.30am to 5pm; Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm. Dial 999 outside office hours for our emergency service.

Motorways and trunk roads such as the A19 (north of Thirsk), A66 and A64 are not the responsibility of the council. For these roads, you should report issues to Highways England by email at info@highwaysengland.co.uk or telephone on 0300 123 5000.

It should only take you a few minutes to complete this form. Please do not provide personal information unless specifically requested. You can report one issue per location and will be given the option to report additional issues at the end of the form.
